Judges having fun at the 2025 Judging Workshop in Dayton

In August 2025, GCC held its first 'Field Trip' to harvest flax!
Rust Belt Fibershed introduced us to the complex process of producing linen from 100% flax.
The goal - to "create a collaborative network of regenerative fiber farmers, processors, and designers from the Rust Belt Region ... working with the resources in our fibershed, in particular wool, alpaca, flax, and plant dyes. .... To teach stewardship of our land and resources, foster friendship and creativity, and facilitate conversations and strategies that address the challenges of a localized fiber supply chain."

The Jean Frazier Workshop, May 4, 2023
Toasts were made in honor of Jean Frazier as 27 participants engaged in a morning of horticultural fun. The Jean Frazier Workshop, held every two years, and this year led by Kristi Webster, brought smiles to all as we created a succulent wreath for our homes.  We squeezed into 'The Pink Pig'

and had loads of fun together!
Picture2022 Holiday Wassail much enjoyed by all thanks to all our hostesses and in particular to Kate Lincoln for inviting us!

Our Francoise Weeks
'week' in 2022

began with a glorious sunny day in October foraging, which led to many beautiful examples of Francoise' jewelry and woodlands.

Volunteers from GCC made fabulous pumpkin centerpieces for our tables at the joint luncheon.

Following this, Francoise taught 35 of us to make our own woodland creations.
Although it was sleeting outside and truly a miserable weather day, Francoise brought us sunshine with a day filled with creating jewelry and centerpieces.
